Saint Basil Catholic School - Saint Basil Bears - South Haven MichiganWelcome to Saint Basil School!

Welcome to December at St. Basil School!

We're getting an early start to the winter season, so just a few reminders:

- School closings will be available on the radio at 98.3 and 103.7 FM.  You can also check tv stations Channel 3 WWMT and Channel 8 WOOD TV.  We will post school closings on this website as soon as possible, but your best resource will be the news outlets.  Whatever decision is made by South Haven Public Schools for closings or delays, we mirror that decision.

- Students should dress appropriately for recess outside with a winter coat, hat, gloves or mittens and boots.

Keep track of the happenings, opportunities and breaking news at St. Basil.  Check out Bear Tracks, notes from our principal posted nearly every day on the blog.  You can also sign up to receive Bear Tracks directly via email (just email kellyford@saintbasilcatholic.org)!  Find out how you can help the school - volunteer opportunities, TRIP purchases, and all those little contributions that make such a difference for our school.  Keep in contact with your child's teacher, and together we'll make this another successful year at Saint Basil School!

Our School Philosophy

As an extension of the family unit, St. Basil School recognizes the importance of educating the whole child: spiritual, academic, and social. We impart the gospel values that are the core of Catholic teaching. Saint Basil School incorporates such qualities as loving service, responsibility, and respect throughout the curriculum.

The combination of a fully certified teaching staff, a high quality support staff, parental involvement, and many caring, capable volunteers creates the challenging, learning environment.

Saint Basil Church of South Haven Michigan, while the sun sets over Lake MichiganOur students achieve high scores on national and state Math, Science, and Reading tests. Historically, well over fifty years, St. Basil students are well prepared academically to meet the challenges of high school and beyond.

If you are considering Saint Basil for your child, feel free to look through our website for a peek into our school.  However, we believe there is no substitute for seeing our school in person.  Meet our teaching staff, visit classrooms, ask questions and see for yourself what makes St. Basil School special.  For a tour and more information, contact Principal Kelly Ford by email or by phone at 269-637-3529.
